Ask a Provence specialist where to find a wedding venue in the Gard, France, and many will point you to the stretch of garrigue, vineyards and lavender on the west bank of the Rhône, looking across towards Mont Ventoux. This is Provence without the Riviera crowds: quieter roads, stone villages, and estates where a wedding can last a whole weekend rather than a single evening.

Le Clos d'Hullias sits exactly there, at Saint-Christol-de-Rodières, in what locals call the Gard provençal. It is a fully restored 17th-century hamlet, hired exclusively from 4 p.m. on arrival day to 4 p.m. on departure day.

Why the Gard works for a destination wedding

The Gard belongs to the Occitanie region, but its eastern half shares everything couples imagine when they say "Provence": olive groves, cicadas, Côtes du Rhône vineyards, and evening light that turns old stone gold. What it adds is space and a gentler pace than the better-known hilltop villages across the river.

Access is simple for guests flying in from the UK, the Netherlands, Germany or the United States. From the estate, the A7 motorway is 25 minutes away, Avignon TGV station one hour, Aix-en-Provence TGV and Montpellier 1h30, Lyon and Marseille two hours, and Geneva 3h30. Guests can land in Paris, take the high-speed train south and be on the terrace by aperitif time.

Six spaces, three days

The hamlet gives every moment of the weekend its own setting, all within a few steps of each other:

Furniture (barrels, wrought-iron tables and chairs, catering buffets), the ceremony sound system, the wet-weather plan, bed linen and final cleaning are included. There are no imposed suppliers and no corkage fee, so your caterer, band and champagne remain your own choices.

"I can't recommend this place enough — it is truly unique! Exceptional value for money regarding space, views, accommodations and facilities." — verified TripAdvisor review, 5/5

Sleeping on site, and the 2027 rates

For a destination wedding, keeping the inner circle on the property changes everything. The hamlet offers 28 beds across three independent stone houses, with 13 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms in total. La Maison de la Tour (110 m², four bedrooms) has its own private pool; La Maison du Hibou (110 m², three bedrooms) and La Maison Bleue (120 m², five bedrooms) have shared pool access. A 60 m² bridal apartment with a getting-ready lounge is offered to the couple.

Rates are published rather than quoted on request. In 2027, a two-night midweek hire costs €3,280 in April and October, €4,980 in May and €6,980 from June to August. A Friday-to-Sunday weekend ranges from €5,280 in April and October to €7,980 in September and €8,980 in high summer. The 28 guest beds are booked for both nights, at €59 per person per night, linen included.
