Searching for a wedding venue near Avignon usually starts with a practical wish: a place your guests can actually reach, in a part of Provence that still feels like the countryside once they arrive. What most couples want for the wedding itself is somewhere quieter — shade, space, no neighbours, and a whole estate to themselves.
L'Oasis du Saule sits at Monteux, in the Vaucluse, 25 minutes from Avignon TGV station. It is a secluded estate of great trees and paper lanterns, privatised for three days and two nights.
Why Avignon makes a good base for guests
For couples planning from the UK, the Netherlands, Germany or the United States, the station matters more than the airport. Avignon TGV is 3h30 from Paris by high-speed train, so international guests can connect through Paris and arrive the same day. From the estate, Sorgues station is 15 minutes away, Aix-en-Provence TGV 50 minutes, Marseille and Montpellier 1h20 by car, and Lyon 2h10.
That short final leg is the real advantage. A venue two hours into the hills becomes a problem on the guest list. Monteux keeps everyone close to the Rhône valley's transport links while placing them among the vineyards, lavender fields and hilltop villages of the Vaucluse — the Provence they came for.
Three days rather than one evening
Most wedding venues near Avignon sell a Saturday. The Oasis is booked from 5 p.m. on day one to 4 p.m. on day three, with no other couple and no other event on site. The rhythm follows naturally:
- Day one: guests settle into the gîtes, the lanterns come on and a welcome dinner begins around the plancha grill and bars.
- Day two: the ceremony in the gardens before a flower-decked gloriette, cocktails on shaded terraces, then dinner under the open sky or beneath the nomad tent with its suspended wicker lamps.
- Day three: brunch on the grand terrace, with a food truck if you want one last flourish.
There is no evening curfew. The open-air dance floor sits beside the dinner area, with a fixed bar and a mobile bar, and the night lasts as long as you do. If the weather turns, an air-conditioned indoor hall with carved-stone mirrors takes up to 50 guests.
What is included, and what you choose yourself
The estate hosts up to 130 seated guests. Furniture, the nomad tent, tableware for 50, guinguette string lights, bed linen and towels are included, and cleaning afterwards is handled. There are no imposed suppliers and no corkage fee, so your caterer, band, florist and champagne are your own decisions.
Aurélien, the estate's single point of contact, handles the venue side: the first visit, the technical meetings with your suppliers and anything that needs attention on the day. He is not a wedding planner — he is the person who makes sure nothing on site goes wrong.

Beds, and what it costs
Accommodation is where a venue near Avignon either works for a destination wedding or does not. On site there are three independent gîtes sleeping up to 15 people in total, including a bridal lodge with a dressing table and getting-ready lounge. Guest beds are booked at €59 per person per night, linen included. Beyond the gates, more than 100 further beds lie within a few kilometres, from a four-star campsite to hotels and country houses.
Prices are published rather than quoted on request. For 2027, a three-day, two-night privatisation starts at €780 including VAT midweek from November to March, and reaches €4,980 for a Friday-to-Sunday weekend between June and September.
