French Riviera Wedding Venue: The Private Château Option

Search for a French Riviera wedding venue and the results cluster along the same forty kilometres of coastline: Saint-Tropez, Cannes, Antibes, Nice. Beautiful — and priced accordingly, usually as a per-head package inside a hotel that is hosting someone else the same weekend. Drive an hour inland and the arithmetic changes entirely. The same Mediterranean light, the same airport for your guests, but an entire private château instead of a rented terrace. That is where Château Pimõ sits: at Draguignan, in the Var, among vines and centenary olive trees, 1h40 from Nice and 1h30 from Saint-Tropez.

Riviera access, Provence Verte setting

The Var hinterland is the Riviera's quiet neighbour. Château Pimõ stands in the Provence Verte, 20 minutes from Brignoles, one hour from Aix-en-Provence, 1h15 from Marseille and 1h40 from Nice airport, with Paris 3h30 away by TGV. In practice, guests flying into Nice or Marseille land, hire a car or share a shuttle, and are at the welcome dinner the same evening — the transfer is the length of a coastal traffic jam in August.

What you gain by moving inland is space and silence. The Gorges du Verdon are nearby, the coast is an hour off for anyone who wants a beach day either side of the wedding, and the estate itself faces hills rather than a boulevard.

What "private" actually means at Château Pimõ

Exclusivity here is the default, not an upgrade. The three-day, two-night formula opens the whole estate to you at 5 p.m. on day one; bedrooms are yours until noon on day three and the reception spaces until 4 p.m. A shorter two-day formula gives you the reception spaces from 1 p.m., the bridal room from 2 p.m. and guest rooms from 3 p.m.

Included in every privatisation: the five five-star suites inside the château, private parking for more than 50 vehicles, reception furniture (Saint-Rémy-de-Provence chairs and 180 cm round tables), full cleaning after the party, and day-of coordination by one of two partner agencies — La Maison Française or Mondello Hospitality.

Six settings, one continuous weekend

The estate is laid out as a sequence rather than a single ballroom. The night before, the Rooftop hosts a candlelit welcome dinner under a wrought-iron pergola facing the hills at sunset. Vows are exchanged in La Roseraie, a rose garden that doubles as the portrait location. Cocktails move to the pool and its centenary olive trees. Dinner is served beneath a 180 m² nomad tent strung with guinguette garlands, pitched between the olive trees and the vines — included, never billed as an extra. The party then moves into the air-conditioned Ballroom, at full volume until 3 a.m., after which the sound softens so the night can continue more quietly. Brunch is served by the pool the next morning.

Rates, and the two clauses international couples ask about

Rates for 2026–2027 are published and inclusive of tax. The three-day formula runs from €7,980 in low season (November to March) to €11,980 for a Friday-to-Sunday weekend in June, July or August. The two-day formula starts at €5,980 in low season and reaches €9,980 for a summer weekend. Set against coastal per-head packages for 100 guests, the comparison is rarely close.

Two clauses matter more than the headline figure. There is no imposed vendor list — bring your own caterer, planner, photographer or band, from France or from home — and there is no corkage fee, so the wines and champagnes you choose arrive without a surcharge. Guests sleeping on site also use the wellness area: heated indoor pool, wooden sauna, hammam, massage room. Seeing it before you decide
